Project
SeaTrees Mangrove Forest Restoration on Biak Island Region
With the support of
SeaTrees
SeaTrees creates connections between people and brands that are ready to meet this challenge, and the social entrepreneurs and scientists who know how to regenerate ecosystems but struggle for funding and recognition. The mission of SeaTrees is to provide financial support to "regenerative" projects that protect and restore critical ocean ecosystems such as kelp forests, mangrove forests, coral reefs, seagrass, and ridge to reef watershed conservation.
In collaboration with
Eden Reforestation Projects
SeaTrees has partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects to employ local villagers on Padaidori Island to restore, replant, and protect the area's mangrove forests. Eden Reforestation Projects is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental group founded in 2004. Eden's global restoration network works to create livelihoods for millions of people living in extreme poverty by empowering them to restore and protect forests on a massive scale.
