Sustainable Agriculture

A local Chhay Areng elder proudly holding soon to be ripe vegetables thanks to some of the Sustainable Livelihood initiatives carried out as part of this project.

Before the start of this project, local communities in the Cardamoms were dependent upon destructive behaviors to maintain their livelihoods such as migratory slash-and-burn agriculture, logging, and wildlife poaching. This project helps families develop modern agriculture practices in order to escape the cycle of destruction and poverty.
