During the first quarter of 2020, Sixteen local communities directly benefited from the economic opportunities provided by the Southern Cardamom REDD+ project. Wildlife Alliance’s project has allowed SeaTrees’ investment in carbon finance as well as the successful integration of highly beneficial Community Based Ecotourism (CBET) initiatives.
Community Based Ecotourism (CBET) has brought over 4,000 international and national tourists to experience the beautiful Cardamom Rainforest Landscape. Four villages in Chi Phat offered a three day rainforest trekking package and eight villages in Chhay Areng have welcomed visitors for mountain camping.
