27 local village communities in the Dasapalla Block of Nayagarh district in Odisha have been protecting customary forest resources (mixed Sal type) supposedly with an average sequestration potential of 44000 tons carbon per year which await a dignified monetization without overriding their customary & legal rights & responsibilities.
