Summary
Nestled in the rugged landscapes of the French Alps, the Alpine Wolf Conservation Project is dedicated to safeguarding one of Europe’s most iconic and misunderstood predators: the grey wolf (Canis lupus). After being eradicated from France in the early 20th century, wolves naturally recolonized the Alps from Italy in the 1990s, sparking both hope for biodiversity and challenges for local communities.
