Active Restoration
Summary
This project is restoring landscapes and promoting sustainable land use. Collaborating closely with local partners in Rwanda, our project aims to restore 1,000 km (the distance from Munich to Copenhagen) of riparian buffer zones. A particular benefit of the giant clumping (sympodial) bamboo species used for this project is its strong capacity to protect soils against erosion, and its ability to enhance soil health and water binding capacity.
