In November of 2010, the iGiveTrees project gave 1,000 native species trees to residents of Cunha to use for the reforestation of their pastures. This former ecovilla received a total of 100 of those trees.
They had previously fenced off the former cattle pasture, allowing the native vegetation to return. The inputs left by the cattle, and the return of vegetation had created rich soil for their trees to be nourished.
