In this process, the Mayor's Office of Bahía Solano, in partnership with the Community Council, also plays an important role, obtaining achievements that benefit the families of the territory.
Results such as these demonstrate the impact of REDD+ projects, which, in addition to reducing emissions caused by deforestation and forest degradation, also improve the quality of life of the communities that protect the forests.
Through the resources obtained from the commercialization of carbon credits generated by the DELFINES CUPICA REDD+ 🐋 project, one of the most important in terms of forest conservation in Colombia, the Cupica Community Council, located in Bahía Solano, Chocó, has managed to implement impact investments for its community, such as health posts, schools, sewage network and road improvement. ✅
We congratulate this community council that in addition to working for the conservation of their territory, they are working for their autonomy and for the benefit of their community.
