With support of This Is My Earth and Daniel van der Post, in 2021 we expanded the reserve in 68h of Galilea, to protect and connect its two forest patches. Although currently almost isolated, within these patches we have recorded all the main critical species: blue-billed curassows, brown spider monkeys and jaguars, among many other species. The expansion included an area of grassland that will be restored as a biological corridor to connect the patches between them and with the main forest patch of Selva Verde, to ensure the viability of these populations. A large area of grassland will also be restored to protect the wetland that surrounds it.
