After 25 years, the community of Bocas de Barbacoas went from having to consume contaminated water from the stream to have quality water from a deep well in each household. This was possible thanks to a joint effort between the community and the Fundación BioDiversa Colombia, with the support of Hoteles Bh, The Nature Conservancy Colombia, Corantioquia and Gotta Ingeniería. The system consists in a deep water well that is pumped via solar energy to an elevated tank (recycled) from where the water is distributed to each of the 70 households of the community.
