Summary
The project aims to restore 4000 hectares the barren uplands of the 15000 smallholder farmers in the West Bengal and Jharkhand states of India, by adopting soil and water conservation methods and undertaking intensive plantations to improve the socio-economic conditions of the tribal communities. These are small holder farmers belonging to the marginalized tribal communities, often migrating to neighboring cities for daily-wage labor.
