In February 2020, 1500 indigenous trees were planted in a forest patch that neighbours Auckland State Forest. Last week, the team at Wild Bird Trust, started the process of monitoring the planted seedlings – this presents a baseline of the status of the trees and the vegetation cover directly after planting as a reference for plant growth and development over time.
Once completed they will monitor again at 6, 12 and 24 months. So far the trees are looking very happy and healthy!
