Project
Responsible forest management and biodiversity conservation in Viet Nam's Central Annamites

Background

Established in 2017 with a single workshop and basic saws, Hiep Thuan Cooperative has grown significantly, now operating from a 5,000 m² facility with three workshops, a warehouse, and modern sawmill equipment. In 2023, members formed the Hiep Thuan Forest Certification Group Management Team to oversee nearly 1,200 hectares of FSC-certified land. The certified area has since grown to 1,485 hectares, with a target of reaching 3,000 hectares by 2030. By 2024, the cooperative expanded operations to process FSC-certified wood.

Scope of Work

As part of its participation with Forests Forward, Hiep Thuan Cooperative is working with WWF to implement an integrated programme to enhance forest quality, conserve biodiversity, and support local communities through responsible forest management.
