Project

Ibirá in Tupi Guarani literally means: “which springs from the ground”; “ pulled out of the earth”.

This program intends to implement 1'000 ha of mechanized agroforestry systems in the Central and North region in Brazil. Regions that are at the forefront of deforestation and monoculture pressure.

Project developers have gathered more than 18 years of implementing agroforestry systems in Brazil and worldwide, allowing them to highly efficient models from both production and conservation angles. The reinforcement of such initiatives will allow the dissemination of regenerative agriculture in the country. This initiative has the potential to cover an area of up to 500 ha located near Brasilia and 500 ha in Pará with adapted systems with baru, coffee, açaí, and cocoa.

The first planting wave covers an area of 30 ha, where the proposed planting model to be implemented includes a great diversity of productive and fruit species, as well as native trees. A total of 20 different plants amongst which 13 are tree species, are integrated into the system. The first phase allows the dissemination of the Program in the Educational Center of Inkóra Farm.
