Summary
Our project is restoring 1,000 hectares of degraded land bordering the Laguna de Terminos nature reserve in southeast Mexico, where wehave planted over 1 million native trees, based on permaculture ethics and principles. Our keystone species is logwood (Haematoxylumcampechianum), which originally dominated the ecosystem. Our project includes 850 hectares of conservation; furthermore, logwood forests are home to a great number of animal species, i.e. jaguar, spider monkey and howling monkey
