Cameroon had 22 Million hectares of tropical rainforest that provides home to many local & indigenous communities, a wide variety of plant & animal species. In 2023 alone, it lost about 197.000 hectares of natural forest. The loss of biodiversity is one of the greatest environmental challenges Cameroon faces today.Unfortunately Cameroon's forest is subject to serious problems such as deforestation resulting from logging & farming, lack of effective forest management programs and awareness.
