Improved institutional capacities and programming frameworks
Facilitate development of the Ward Development Plan for the WCCPC

Arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Increase in severe drought, water scarcity, food insecurity, declining plant and animal diversity as well as displacement and conflict are some of the challenges being experienced in ASALs. Addressing these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach, embedded in policy generated through community involvement.

To provide a regulatory framework for enhanced response to climate change and anchor mechanisms and measures that will improve resilience to climate change, LISTEN Project has been part of the development of the Laikipia, Isiolo and Samburu Climate Change Acts. These acts play an important role in enhancing climate resilience through development, management, implementation, regulation and monitoring of adaptation and mitigation of climate change.
