Project
Mistehae Lake

Spearheaded by a coalition of local environmental organizations, government agencies, and community volunteers, the project seeks to plant thousands of native trees over the next five years. Each phase of the project involves meticulously selecting tree species that are well-suited to the local ecosystem, ensuring a diverse and resilient forest. Volunteers, including school groups and local families, participate in organized planting events, where they learn about the importance of reforestation and receive hands-on training. The project also includes ongoing maintenance and monitoring to ensure the young trees thrive. By revitalizing the forest around Mistehae Lake, the project aims to combat soil erosion, improve water quality, and provide habitats for wildlife, ultimately fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
