Pangkut is an urban village and the capital of Arut Utara sub-district, Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The total population of Pangkut is 4,191, with 2,249 males and 1,942 females. Pangkut has the largest population in the Arut Utara sub-district, amounting to 46.65% of the total population. Pangkut can be accessed either by private vehicle (motorcycle, car, etc.) or by public transportation such as Damri Bus from the capital city of Kotawaringin Barat District (Pangkalan Bun).

In general, the land use of Pangkut is composed of oil palm plantations (owned by either companies or smallholder farmers), industrial plantation forests (Hutan Tanaman Industri [HTI]), community plantation forests (Hutan Tanaman Rakyat [HTR]), agriculture, and mining. The primary commodities of Pangkut are oil palm, rubber, Eucalyptus sp., and Acacia sp. Several cooperation programs exist in Pangkut, offered by various sources such as the central and regional governments and private companies.

Pangkut was one of the selected villages that participated in the community forest development together with five other villages, covering 668 ha with the help of six farmer groups that hold social forestry permits.

In 2022, Kaleka and PT Korintiga Hutani supported training activities on the timber legality verification system (SVLK) and provided institutional managerial training to increase the knowledge and readiness of the Forest Farmer Group in facing SVLK audits and improve their welfare.
