Bumi Jaya is an inland village located in Central Seruyan sub-district. It is one of the smallest villages by area in the sub-district. It is the closest village to Seruyan’s capital Kuala Pembuang, the sub-district-level downtown area. Bumi Jaya ranks as the most highly populated village within the sub-district, with a population density of 169.33 people per square kilometer as of 2021.
Like the entirety of Central Seruyan, the village is classified as a lowland, with an elevation of less than 500 meters above sea level. Agriculture is the principal occupation of the residents. Around 112 people are identified as palm oil farmers. Based on the age of the palm oil trees surveyed, it is suggested that Bumi Jaya is relatively new to palm oil cultivation. Nearly the entire land area is classified as outside state forests.
Bumi Jaya is moderately accessible; inter-village land transportation is available even though the village road is not paved with asphalt or concrete yet. The village is 100% electrified—all of the 614 households have access to electricity from the state-owned company PLN. Bumi Jaya is also one of the few villages in Central Seruyan that has a functioning village unit cooperative.
Bumi Jaya has made preparations for an external audit of Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification activities, with a target of 244 smallholders.
