Project
Seatrees Coral Restoration in Florida

Seatrees is funding the following work by Plant a Million Corals Foundations:

  1. Expansion of land based coral nursery, including the construction of three (3) new tanks.
  2. Micro-fragmenting, re-skinning, and husbandry of 3000 corals.
  3. Out-planting of 3000 corals during a weather appropriate window
  4. Monitoring and reporting of corals throughout the duration of the partnership.

Corals will be planted using the following methods:

  1. 1,000 fragments reared on 3.5cm plugs and outplanted into the field. Corals would fuse together in situ.
  2. 1,000 fragments planted onto 100 medium REEForms (10 fragments on each 20cm diameter head) in the nursery, outplanted to the reef after they fuse.
  3. 1,000 fragments planted onto 50 large REEForms (20 fragments on each 30cm diameter head) in the nursery, outplanted to the reef after they fuse.
