Kyemihoko Rural Women's initiative

The Women's Tree Nursery is doing well. After receiving trees and helping plant in the community last year as part of the Rwenzori Rainmakers project, our village women were inspired to start their own tree nursery. They are calling themselves the "Kyemihoko Rural Women's initiative" and their current plan is to help landscape the new hospital grounds.
Their indigenous tree saplings are flourishing and they now hope to add flowering plants, (this may help make sales to people visiting patients in the hospital.) The main reason is to beautify the area they feel so proud to be part of. They also hope to supply trees to other villagers who face or have faced landslides, such as the nearby Kasika Village who lost 18 residents in a rockslide last year.
