The Overtuin Food Forest (2018)
Tree damage from storms Eunice and Franklin

The recent storms have caused serious damage to trees in the Overtuin. Due to a high water table, the tree roots grow shallow - and for some trees this was not enough support for the high winds.

Canopies cover paths. Branches lie tangled together. Fortunately, there has been no damage to the food forest planting of the last 5 years. However, it will take time to clear up the woody debris and open the garden fully to visitors.
