With support from SIG, WWF is working to improve forest protection and connectivity in three important areas: the Dawna-Tenasserim Landscape, Thap Lan National Park, and the Songkhram River Watershed. These areas have been selected because they support a high degree of biological diversity, are important for water quality and food security, and require conservation action.
The project focuses on securing corridors essential to forest connectivity and integrity, strengthening existing conservation lands, and designating new protected areas. Communities are engaged in the design, implementation, and monitoring of the project. The project involves a combination of restoration activities, habitat protection, and sustainable land-management practices (such as improved community forestry) in order to improve the ecological health and resilience of 60,000 hectares of forested land.
