The children of today are our planet’s future conservationists. In times where children are becoming more and more disconnected from nature, it is important that schools promote contact with the natural world and an involvement in nature conservation. This time the Escola Alemã do Estoril (Estoril German School) brought their younger children to learn about the problems and importance of native forest and species. Through immersive storytelling, they could learn to perceive themselves as being part of the solution and to take action in identifying and controlling alien species and complementing natural regeneration through tree planting. Between mists and some light rain showers, teachers, children and the team stood firm and returned home knowing that we were planting the seeds for future nature conservation.
