Located in the Andes' biodiversity hotspot, Tapichalaca Reserve defends against deforestation, creating a buffer for Podocarpus and Yacuri Parks. With 800+ plants, 351 birds, and safeguarding 30 endemic orchids, showcasing world-class floral diversity. Home to more than half of the endangered Jocotoco Antpitta, it's a critical habitat.The reserve hosts the exclusive Tapichalaca Tree Frog (restricted range). Carbon sequestration data at 381t CO2e per hectare emphasizes its ecological importance.
