The Tapichalaca Reserve in Ecuador safeguards against deforestation creating a buffer zone for both Podocarpus & Yacuri National Parks. Hosting 800+ plant species & 351 bird species, it notably protects 30 endemic orchids, holding some of the highest floral diversity in the world. Over half of the globally endangered Jocotoco Antpitta lives in the reserve. The reserve also provides habitat for the Tapichalaca Tree Frog, limited range to this reserve. Published data reveals 381t CO2e per hectare.
