This site is a 7.5-hectare agricultural plot located in Antiguo Morelos, Tamaulipas, and serves as the foundation for a regenerative farming project that integrates spiritual restoration with sustainable agricultural practices. The land is characterized by choyoso soil, which presents unique challenges and opportunities for regenerative farming.
Role of the Site in the Project
The site plays a critical role in the following aspects of the project:
Regenerative Agriculture Practices: This land will serve as a model for regenerative agriculture in the region, utilizing methods like Miyawaki forest design, slash mulch, and food forest techniques to promote soil health, water retention, and biodiversity.
Spiritual and Ecological Restoration: The mission behind this project is to restore not only the land but also the spiritual connection between humanity and nature. The land will become a place of healing, stewardship, and abundance for both the environment and the community.
Biodiversity Conservation and Food Security: By integrating 750 pomegranate trees (Wonderful variety), shade trees (e.g., neem, moringa, palo rosa), and a variety of native and exotic species, the site will contribute to conserving biodiversity while ensuring food security and sustainable production methods.
Educational Hub and Community Engagement: The site is intended to be a space for education, where individuals can learn about sustainable farming techniques, spiritual connection to the land, and the practicalities of regenerative agriculture. This will also include tourism initiatives and the potential for selling regenerative products (bonsai, fruits, and more).
Ecological Design and Restoration: The site will incorporate sacred ecological design principles inspired by The Nature of Order, focusing on creating harmonious patterns and systems that promote balance and fertility.
