Atrapanieblas (Fog Catchers) en Reserva Ecológica Cerro Grande, Ovalle, Chile

The fog catchers in the Cerro Grande Ecological Reserve are located in Chile, in the commune of Ovalle, on the southern edge of the driest desert in the world: Atacama.
It consists of 28 fog catchers of nine square meters for the ecological regeneration of the place, which is highly affected by desertification, chronic droughts and the ravages of Climate Change.
Additionally, there are 6 additional fog catchers of nine square meters each, which are used to manufacture the only beer in the world made with a base of fog.
This has allowed the harvest of about 600,000 thousand liters of water per year that allow the ecological recovery of a desert community and productive development thanks to fog, this being unique in the world and self-managed by a peasant community in conjunction with the Un Alto en el Desierto.
