My Forest Armenia's Reforestation Areas: Urasar

The first trees were planted in Urasar, Lori region, in 2023, in an area covering 360 ha. The altitude ranges from 1725 to 2300m, mostly with northern exposure, and the soil quality is excellent. This allowed us to plant many different broad-leaf species and shrubs - 13 types of trees and several types of shrubs. 240 people from local communities joined our team to complete this huge task. The results of the first monitoring were extremely positive: we registered a more than 80% survival rate in the summer 2023, the first and most crucial summer following the planting. During the monitoring visits of 2024, we registered that the trees had grown spectacularly, thriving in an environment that is very favorable for the new forest to start.
