This reforestation project is located in one of the most forested areas in Germany in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. The company's forest areas are certified according to the PEFC standard. The silvicultural goal in the project is characterized by the fact that the former pure spruce stands are converted into climate-resilient mixed stands, in which a proportion of hardwood is introduced. In addition, the existing softwood is enriched with other types of softwood. In the future, the stocks are to be optimized qualitatively and quantitatively through maintenance interventions with regard to the mixture proportions. Particular attention will be paid to wildlife management, removal of competing vegetation, silvacultural measures and forest fire prevention.
