larger and better distilling unit for clove essential oil being built

With support of 80% of dutch government funding (RVO) to build processing units, we have started to build a large distilling unit for essential oil production. As always, we work with a local farmer, who was trained to construct distilling units. He has finished the kettle already, the stainless steel pipes are already there, so the new unit will replace the old small one this month. The new unit can get oil from 500 kg of clove leaves in one shift, where the current one can only process 25 kg at a time. So a huge improvement. And so many more farmers can now sell leaves to the unit, and share in profits later on, not only for those in our program, but also farmers who are not part of the restoration activities (yet) can join and reap the benefits from our presence. The new kettle will also not lead to corrosion, which means that the highest quality of oil may be produced, while the processing allows to achieve the National Indonesian standard of at least 75% eugenol. Obviously this will fetch the best price when selling to the essential oil company we work with.
we look forward to support the rural community with exporting the essential oil. If you are interested, please contact us.
