We implemented 5 lines of productive and educational agroforest, supported by 4 X-lines in between. We organized a 5 day course- the first one in syntropic agriculture in the Algarve- to spread regenerative knowledge and implement a new area.
We put an incredible amount of trees, plants, cuttings and seeds into this land to imitate the natural ecosystem. Integrated in the design are the successional stages of nature from the placenta stage to the accumulation stage until the abundance phase.
The main produce will be a mix of figs, pears, grapes, pomegranate and almonds, supported by a huge variety of support species, like poplar, fig, elderberry, folhado, grey willow, casuarina and productive placenta vegetables, aromatics and thousands of seeds from 20 different species.
This area will be one of our 'universities' to study nature and gain experience with the incredibly potent method of Syntropic Agroforestry. These methods have potential to restore the natural ecosystem which is very eroded in this area, and at the same time create abundance of food.
