Restore Nature Foundation offers the possibility to 'adopt' squared meters of land that we regenerate in your name. On every adopted squared meter we create micro ecosystem with native species. We planted around 100 nests in this area.

For this concept we incorporate regenerative principles of stratification (light needs of plants) and succession (plants with shorter life cycles prepare the soil for the plants with longer life cycles, imitating the natural processes of the forest.

The nests consist of:

• 3-4 saplings of native tree/ shrub species (1-2 higher layer trees that like full sunlight and 1-2 medium/ low layer plants that like some shade)
• 2-3 cuttings of native plants that have potential to develop well in this nest
• seeds of trees, flowers and plants that are available.

On top of that, we add a bit of compost to the nest, to add microbiology and nutrients. Also, we add a thick layer of mulch that will help this micro ecosystem in many ways: It protects the soil from harsh sun and wind conditions; it keeps moisture much longer; over time when decomposing it feeds the soil and its micro bacterial life and by doing so build up fertile topsoil.

The nest shape imitates nature's wisdom: it's in these shapes where energy is accumulated and isolated from frost and heat. Altogether we try to increase the survival possibilities of the plants and trees we plant and build up ecosystemic functions like increasing biodiversity, improving soil life and restoring water cycles.
