A great start in life

This young family are very pleased with how their plot is coming along! Aragaw (25) and Melkam (21) have been participating in the project since 2018, when they dedicated 0.0625 ha around their home to agroforestry. They plant Rhamnus, olive and avocado trees for income and their own consumption, and Cordia africana, Millitia and Acacia decurense for shade, timber and fuel wood. All are growing well! The Rhamnus and other herbs and vegetables growing in their small farm have started generating an income. In 2020 they earned about US$180, and so far in 2021 about US$200.
