Measuring the height of the Avicennia plants in the nursery to assess their maturity and predict their planting potential. They need to be 45cm to be planted out. Seeds have been sown in the nursery multiple times this season, which has led to seedlings reaching maturity at different times. Each week a new run to the nursery is made to transport those seedlings that are mature enough to the planting sites. It is likely that the Avicennia planting cycle will be extended beyond 2022 to reach the total target of 10% of the planted area over the full project period.
