WildMon, WeForest, and the Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ) have partnered on a groundbreaking eco-acoustic monitoring project to understand how restoring forest corridors is supporting wildlife return to this fragmented landscape.

In 2024, six small nurseries have been providing the seedlings for the project.

Meet Mrs. Marinalva, a participant in Dandara who set up her agroforestry system in in 2022.

The new group of 31 smallholder farmers who will be participating in the project is now fully set up.

Students from Instituto Terra have presented some great results from their monitoring of the Dandara agroforestry project.

We visited Marcela’s nursery again in early 2024. She’s nearly doubled her production capacity from 2023: her nursery is able to produce 700,000 seedlings per year!

The third year of acoustic data collection to monitor biodiversity was completed in 2023.

A small community nursery run by a group of farmers is producing all the yerba mate seedlings for the project; their production comes from INTA´s improved seedlings.
