ZeroCARBON is a project that promotes improved land management through the plantations of high-value native trees in new forests and Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR). After a specific and technical training, rural farming communities in the Petén Department in Guatemala are donated the trees for management and use purposes. ZeroCARBON involves a group of 47 local farmingcommunities spread across 8 municipalities in the Peten region. The ZeroCARBON 2022 program reaches 211 participants, taking into account both cooperatives participating as a group and individual farmers. The program will expand year by year in the region, involving new families/groups that meet zeroCARBON's eligibility requirements.
