In 2020, SIG launched its Forest Positive commitment, which includes a commitment to create, restore, protect, or improve the management of more thriving forests than it takes to make its products. In 2020, SIG used 400,000 tons of paperboard to make its cartons, equivalent to 650,000 hectares of forests.
