Fer de Lance Reforestation Site

In the Fer de Lance Reforestation Site we introduced 4 native tree species in our first phase. These species are Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), Pink Trumpet / Matilisguate (Tabebuia rosea), Ziricote (Cordia Dodecandra) and Ramon (Brosimum alicastrum) trees. The first two species are for timber production the third one for fruit and timber production and the last one is for maya nut production. This site will have a second reforestation phase with more species in September this year. The site was a former cattle field that was cleared more than 10 years ago. It is a 12 hectare block with a reforestation of 5100 trees in its first phase.
The block is called Fer de Lance because when preparing the area for planting we found 3 Fer de Lance snakes. They were removed and introduced in our conservation area to the south of the property. We did not wanted any accidents to happen during the plantation process.
