Summary of engagement
Agrobosque's members cultivate cacao on agricultrual plots in low hill rainforests within the Tambopata National Reserve Buffer Zone, located in the Madre de Dios region. The surrounding forests suffers from invasions, burnings and other illegal activities which degrades the value of the land and is a threat to the area's rich biodiversity. The engagment with WWF seeks to increase the productivity of the cooperative members by restoring forest land and adopting agroforestry practises, which in turn acts as a protective barrier against such activities for the National Reserve.
