Hiep Thuan Cooperative
Participant in WWF’s Forests Forward programme since February 2026 and currently in the Performance Phase. In this phase, Hiep Thuan Cooperative and WWF are jointly implementing agreed action plans and demonstrating progress towards the intended outcomes and impacts.
As part of its participation with Forests Forward, Hiep Thuan Cooperative is implementing an integrated programme of work to enhance forest quality, conserve biodiversity, and support local communities. This includes expanding the area of FSC certification for its acacia wood plantations, conserving biodiversity - including protecting High Conservation Values of a forest under community management -while ensuring the rights, access, and wellbeing of local communities.
Action Area
Improving Forest Management
This action area pertains to the management of forest resources, be it natural forests or plantations, for specific impacts (e.g. protection of watersheds, wildlife habitats, reducing illegal logging, etc.). Credible forest certifications are encouraged to be used as a verification tool for improvements. Show more
Summary of engagement
Over the next five years, Hiep Thuan Cooperative will focus on efforts to restore native tree species and improve the processing of FSC-certified plantation wood. By developing a robust production chain, the goal is to enhance the value of responsibly managed plantation forests, thereby boosting income for local communities and the Cooperative. The work is organized into impact areas with clear objectives, planned activities, and measurable milestones.
