PyroCCS has developed a biochar strategy for developing countries that enables very rapid scaling up of CDR potential, with numerous benefits / SDGs for the respective countries. The implementation of the strategy is based on the combination of low-tech machinery designed for decentralized use in developing countries and high-tech certification to the highest standard to create C sink certificates whose sale covers all costs for investment, biomass purchase and operations without relying on the sale of biochar. Revenue opportunities for local biomass holders without investment and the free distribution of biochar for soil improvement set the stage for massive scaling in a short time.
