About

Actively re-establish a self-sustainable population of the critically endangered Clanwilliam cedar (Widdringtonia Cedarbergensis J.A. Marsh) to ensure its long-term survival within the Cederberg Mountain region of the Western Cape, South Africa.

Established in 2023, Sustainable Ceder is a registered Non-Profit Organisation, composed of a team of passionate conservation-oriented people living and working in the heart of the Cederberg to save its natural habitats and species. With the main focus on the critically endangered Clanwilliam cedar, Sustainable Ceder is committed to conserving and revitalising the population for the benefit of the ecosystem, and all who live and visit the Cederberg.

We also believe that to accomplish our vision, it is imperative that we work closely with the organisations, businesses, and community members of the Cederberg. Together we can make a difference for the current and future generations.
