In 2005, the Thornybush group established Inzalo Community Project, now trading as Thornybush Community (TC), as a registered non-profit organization. Its primary objective is to nurture and uplift the surrounding local communities adjacent to the wildlife-protected areas where Thornybush operates. Initially, its focus was on implementing food gardens in collaboration with a local school and providing funding and mentorship to an allfemale local agricultural small, medium, and micro-enterprise (SMME) business. Over the years, the organization's focus areas have expanded to encompass education, enterprise, commerce, conservation, and voluntourism.
Thornybush Community has become a contributor to the non-profit sector and a supporter of numerous community initiatives and partnerships.
