Summary
Located in the Tunari mountain range of Bolivia, the main objective of this project is to contribute to the restoration of high Andean forest ecosystems through reforestation of the Polylepis lanata (kewiña). Community-led project goals include 700,000 native trees restored in the first 4 years, environmental awareness raising on the functions these forests fulfill, and training community firefighters to protect the landscape through prevention and control measures.
