The project activities will generate GHG emission removals by reforesting and promoting assisted natural regeneration activities on approximately 10,000 hectares (planting approximately 5 million native trees), with the potential to grow the scale of the project far beyond the initial 10,000 hectares. Since July 2021, Earthshot Labs has worked with communities in the region to develop 15 nurseries to serve the reforestation of surrounding villages and started reforestation efforts in January 2022. Moreover, the project will fence all areas and develop firebreaks to promote human-assisted natural regeneration.
