Project
Bluing The Earth, Bluing Indonesia: Mangrove International Day

Through this pilot project we aim to explore the effectiveness of a CO2 reduction with coastal ecosystems through using roots of plant species known as mangroves. The mangroves can maintain the stocks of carbon up to 70% of the total carbon stocks, also referred to Blue Carbon. We conduct research and measure our conservation progress with carbon offsetting estimation (allometric model and CHNS empirical testing).

What blue forest do:

  1. capture and sequester 4-10 more than green trees;
  2. act as natural barrier against tsunami and erosion;
  3. promoting blue economy and sustainable aquaculture; and
  4. protecting biodiversity.
