The regenerative livestock farming carbon project in Colombia supports traditional livestock farmers with degraded and abandoned grasslands. It aims at restoring the ecosystem services of their lands trough the transition and implementation of regenerative livestock grazing activities, which include high density and rotational grazing of cattle and protection of standing forests. These practices will not only contribute to climate change mitigation (additional carbon removed from the atmosphere through increase of the soil organic carbon) but also to climate change adaptation by increasing the resilience of the ecosystems and the landowners towards the effects of climate change.
