Project
COCOMAN FRONTERA REDD+

The project comprises the Consejo Comunitario mayor of Juradó “LOS MARLÍN” and the Greater Council of Nóvita – COCOMAN, who work together to protect the forest by reducing and monitoring deforestation and forest degradation.
For LOS MARLIN, the population is 682 people distributed in 170 families. For COCOMAN, the estimated population is 5,471 inhabitants grouped into 1,001 families. It was validated in 2021 by AENOR international and is Certified under the Cercarbono standard. The name of this project is due to the unification of two community councils: the Community Council of Juradó, which is located on the border with Panama, and the Greater Community Council of Novita Cocoman.
